REJOICE, GOD HAS YOU COVERED!

REJOICE, GOD HAS YOU COVERED!

Reflection on ISAIAH 66: 10 - 14c (Sunday July 3, 2016)

Today God says, "Rejoice with Jerusalem, all you who love her, rejoice." But who is Jerusalem? It's the City of God, where the people of God live and God dwells with them. Who are the people of God? They are the Church, comprising of all the believers. The Church is not a building or an institution, it is a spiritual assembly of the children of God. The Church is not restricted to a particular time or place or denomination; it is the entire... people of God, that is, The Saints (Apostles and Disciples) in heaven, referred to as The Church Triumphant; The Church Suffering- Those who have died and are awaiting purification because they died with light sins (such as lies, gossips, etc), and since not all sins lead to eternal damnation (1John 5:16-17) and no one who's with sin can enter heaven, these death people with minor sins await purification - What the Church calls Purgatory. The are the Church Suffering. And the Church Militant - you and I and all living believers and children of God in this current existence. It is this this Church Triumphant, Suffering and Militant, that is Jerusalem (people of God). God says, he would pour prosperity on you, Jerusalem and he would comfort you in Jerusalem.

So rejoice! Even though you're in pain, rejoice! You are broke and having financial troubles, rejoice with the Church. You are sick, dying and afraid, still, rejoice! Even if things are not going as planned, you should rejoice anyway. Rejoice not because of how things are now, but for how God is about to make them. He says he would pour out prosperity upon you! "I will comfort you," says the Lord. God has promised! So even though you do not feel like it, Rejoice with the Church (Jerusalem). Not outside the Church, but with the Church and it is in that Church that God will comfort you. Do not say, "I can pray at home, I don't have to belong to a Church or go to Church, God can still hear me when I pray at home." God's promise is that he would comfort you IN JERUSALEM, in The Church, NOT outside of it. So you can claim your blessings only by participation in the Church, not by observation!

Become a citizen of Jerusalem, the Church, and be blessed by God. You just have to believe that God means these words for you. For as there's no past in God, so his words are always present. You must have faith!
