Ministries of Prayer

We ask all of our parishioners to pray regularly for the needs of our parish, that we always be guided by the Holy Spirit to do the will of God our Father. We also pray that our parishioners be willing to give of their time, talent, and treasure so that we might do the will of God for the building up of the Kingdom of God. In praying, we perform the seventh Spiritual Work of Mercy, praying for the living and the dead.

We can always pray at home or wherever we might be. Here are some particular activities where one (or a group) might pray for our parish:

  • Adoration – Each Thursday (except Holy Days and special occasions), St. Mary’s in Geneseo is open from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for private Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. You can come and go as you want, spending just a few minutes or an hour, whatever you choose. You pray quietly in whatever way you choose. Please include prayers for our parish.
  • Holy Hour – On the third Thursday of each month (except Holy Days and special occasions), there is a communal Holy Hour at St. Patrick’s Church in Mount Morris from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. where people gather to pray the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet together along with some quiet time to offer prayers for their own needs and the needs of our parish.
  • Immaculate Conception Prayer Group meets on Monday nights at 7:00 pm at the home of Joseph & Donna Guido, 10 Bellevue Avenue in Mount Morris to pray the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, as well as discuss the readings for the coming Sunday
  • Rosary Society gathers periodically to pray the rosary together and to participate in the ministries of our parish
  • Prayer Shawl Ministry – Knit or crochet shawls to bring to the sick and homebound
